    1. TPU Mechanical Properties

    TPU has many excellent mechanical properties:

    Excellent wear resistance:

    The Taber wear value of TPU is 0.35-0.5mg, which is the smallest among plastics. Adding lubricant can reduce the friction of TPU and further improve the wear resistance;

    Tensile strength and tensile rate:

    The tensile strength of thermoplastic polyurethane for sale is 2-3 times that of natural rubber and synthetic rubber. The tensile strength of polyester TPU is more than 60MPa, and the elongation is 410%. The tensile strength of polyurethane TPU is 50MPa, and the elongation is 550%;

    Oil resistance:

    TPU is superior to nitrile rubber in oil resistance and has excellent oil resistance life;

    Low-temperature resistance, weather resistance, and ozone resistance:

    The weather aging resistance of TPU is better than that of natural rubber and other synthetic rubber. Its characteristics of ozone resistance and radiation resistance have special applications in the aerospace industry;

    Hardness range:

    The hardness of TPU is 60a-75d. When the hardness is above 85A, TPU plastic polymer compounding still maintains elasticity, which is a characteristic that other elastomers do not have, so TPU has high load support capacity and good suction and discharge effect.

    2. The Application of TPU

    Shoe material:

    TPU is used for shoe material mainly because of its excellent elasticity and wear resistance. Footwear products containing TPU are much superior to ordinary footwear products in terms of wearing comfort.

    Thin film:

    TPU is increasingly welcomed by people because of its superior performance and environmental protection concept. At present, where PVC is used, TPU can become a substitute for PVC. Among them, the areas with relatively fast growth speed include vamp lining, thermal underwear, transparent underwear, transparent shoulder strap, elastic belt and medical breathable tape.

    Adhesive:

    TPU adhesive is a kind of polyurethane adhesive. The use of polyurethane adhesive has been quite common in Europe and America, especially in the use of footwear adhesive.

    Hose:

    Because TPU hose has good tensile strength, impact strength and high and low-temperature resistance, it is widely used as gas and oil transmission hose for aircraft, tanks, automobiles, motorcycles, machine tools and other mechanical equipment in China. The main polymer compound manufacturer for TPU hose manufacturing is concentrated in Guangdong, Zhejiang, Jiangsu, Shandong, Hebei and other places.
